Va beach curfew & the NHSCA
Due to a large gathering of youth on March 7th that resulted in an unsafe incident, the City of Virginia Beach has prioritized the safety of out-of-town guests visiting the award-winning Oceanfront area.
City officials, in coordination with public safety partners, have increased security measures and police presence throughout the Oceanfront. The NHSCA has met with city officials and police, and the safety of our attendees is the top priority of both the NHSCA and the City.
Youth (under 18) will be required to be accompanied by an adult after 7:00 PM between 2nd Street and 31st Street. As long as a minor is with an adult, the curfew does not apply.

Yes, in accordance with the curfew youth can be on the oceanfront while accompanied by an adult.
Yes, those under 18 can walk back from the venue or free shuttle stop. Walking back from High School Nationals will be permitted.
Attendance at a specified engagement or performance, attendance at religious services or participation in any assembly or expressive activity protected by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution; provided that the minor shall have in his possession written permission including the signature, address and telephone number, of a parent, guardian or other adult person having care, custody or control of such minor to attend such activity or event, and shall return directly to his residence upon conclusion.
Yes, there is a large variety of dinning options on the Oceanfront. Youth can go to dinner as long as an adult is with them.
Yes, youth can attend High School Nationals with their adult coach. If they are on the Oceanfront after 7pm, the adult coach needs to be with them.
