2021 High School Nationals
The 2021 High School Nationals will be held at the new Virginia Beach Sports Center April 23-25, 2021.
For the first time in 31 years, High School Nationals will cap the number of athletes per division. These initial division caps (below) will allow the NHSCA to host a safe event while utilizing extensive health and safety protocols. A detailed report of protocols will be sent to all registered athletes and coaches multiple times before the event and will be posted on the event page prior to High School Nationals.
The event will operate differently than in years past, the NHSCA will be implementing daily sessions to minimize venue occupancy and maintain the first-class environment of NHSCA events. Divisions and/or weight classes per session will be announced prior the event and a tentative schedule is available on the event site.
Spectators will be permitted at High School Nationals, HOWEVER in adherence with state guidance there will be a limited number of tickets per session. The NHSCA is working closely with the Sports Center to determine the number of tickets able to be sold per session and will post information when available. All mats and matches will be streamed live by our partners at FloWreslting.
Details about ticket sales will be emailed to all registered athletes and posted on the event page when divisions and/or weight classes per session are announced (date TBD).
The NHSCA remains grateful for your support and looks forward to seeing you in at High School Nationals. The safety of our athletes, coaches, spectators, and staff members remains our top priority.

If your state does not have a season or “traditional” season you are still eligible to compete at High School Nationals.
If your state season is canceled and you are unable to certify for a “Minimum Weight Class” on the OPC, you may register at any weight. We ask that athletes and guardians use best judgement for the safety of the athlete.
Yes. Although we are working closely with City of Virginia Beach and local officials to ensure High School Nationals will operate safely April 23rd-25th. We understand that given the circumstances we have all encountered throughout the past year, we must have alternative options.
The NHSCA understands the importance of this event for the high school wrestling community and remains committed to conducting an event that allows athletes to highlight their skills for college coaches and recruiters. If the City of Virginia Beach is unable to host High School Nationals April 23rd-25th, the current contingency plan is the week of May 24, 2021 in Virginia Beach. If alternative dates/locations are required all registration information and fees will be transferred. More information will be made available as planning continues.
