Now in its second year, the inaugural girls division was a huge success. The best female wrestlers from 28 states competed to earn official High School All-Americans status.

Wrestlers Must Weigh-In Wearing a Singlet!

103, 112, 120, 128, 136, 144, 160, 185, 220

There will be one weigh-in for the entire event with a 3-pound weight allowance. 
i.e. 103 weight class will be 106 pounds

Wrestler must be enrolled in high school grades 9-12 in the 2019-2020 school year. There
are NO exceptions!

Please Note: If you are NOT enrolled in grades 9-12, you will be disqualified  and will not be
able to compete the 2021 High School Nationals.

**Awards will be given at the conclusion of the championship finals for each division in Hall A. You must be present on the awards stand during the presentation to receive your award. Plan according. Awards will NOT be shipped.

If your wrestler has any skin issues, please print this form for your doctor. Form must be filled out by
doctor within 7 days of the start of competition at NHSCA Nationals and brought to weigh-ins.

Please note: We still reserve the right to override form if our head trainer/doctor sees any “active” skin

  • Championship Bracket: 2-2-2
  • Consolation Bracket: 1-1:30-1:30

There will be full wrestle backs for all consolation matches.
Please Note: All American rounds will revert to 2-2-2 

The National Wrestling Championships will follow the strictest interpretation of the NFHS rules with the
following exceptions:

  • Headgear is optional for high school
    Unless a hair cover is required to meet grooming
  • Uniform type is optional i.e. high school, club, generic singlet, two piece approved by Federation, etc.
  • Shoe laces are secured if double knotted but at your own peril
  • College out of bounds rules will be used for control and near-fall/falls

Video challenges will be permitted starting with the Quarter-Finals in the championship bracket and the
Consolation Round of 12 in the consolation bracket. Coaches will be required to place a $50.00 deposit,
which will be returned if the call on the mat is changed.

Girls Coaches:

  • All coaches MUST BE a current member of the NHSCA:
  •  Coach Pass:
    •  Purchase On-Site:$30.00 on-site in the Lobby of Hall A (Method of payment accepted at the event are: School Checks, Cash, Credit. No personal checks will be accepted)

The All Event Coach Pass is your “ticket” into the event and you do not need to purchase a spectator admission ticket. The All Event Coach Pass in non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions.

Tickets will be available for purchase at the Virginia Beach Convention Center during the following times: 

  • Thursday,  March 26th- 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm
  • Friday, March 27th- Beginning at 7:00am 
  • Saturday, March 28th- Beginning at 7:00am 
  • Sunday, March 29th- Beginning at 7:00am 

Daily Tickets: 

  • Adult-  $30.00
  • Senior (65 & Older)- $15.00
  • Student (ages 7-18) – $15.00
  • Active Military (with ID) – FREE
  • Children 6 & Under – FREE

The top eight (8) place finishers in each weight-class will receive awards as well as official recognition as an All-American. Upon achieving All-American status, you will receive a certificate with your award.

What airport is the closest to the event?

  • The closest airport is Norfolk. It is approximate 18 miles from the venue.
Do I have to wear my High School singlet?
  • No! You can wear any singlet of your choosing. School singlets are fine provided your school does not have an issue.

Do I have to wear a singlet to weigh-in?

  • Yes! All wrestlers are required to wear singlets for weigh ins.
  • Uniform type is optional i.e. high school, club, generic singlet, two piece approved by Federation, etc.

Do I have to wear headgear?

  • No! Headgear is not required but recommended for your safety.

Do I have to be clean shaven?

  • Facial hair must meet normal grooming standards; clean-shaven with sideburns no lower than the earlobes. If hair is longer than allowed by rule then a hair cover must be worn to satisfy the hair rule. If a hair cover is worn then a headgear is mandatory.

If I purchase a t-shirt, will it be shipped to me?

  • No! You will pick up your t-shirt on site during the event from the World Wide Sports Supply booth located in the lobby of the VBCC.

Can I bring a cooler in the convention center?

  • The VBCC does not allow outside food or beverages.

Will there be mat space to workout on Thursday?

  • Yes, mat space will be available during the weigh in times only!

Do I need to have a coach?

  • No, you are not required to have a coach. We do have an “orphan coach” that you can sign up for at the event as well!

 Do coaches have to check in on Thursday?

  • No, coaches can check in anytime throughout the duration of the event to pick up or purchase an All Events Coach Pass.
